I am disappointed with this purchase and feel like the only thing a higher price tag got me was a name brand. I’m not writing this review to be a jerk, I genuinely hope the feedback will help make some good improvements if new models are designed. Adjusting the treble doesn’t seem to help and although being able to mute them is kind of cool- I’ve never needed to mute them. In contrast, the Bose Sound Control is a more entry-level.
BOSE SOUND CONTROL HEARING AIDES BLUETOOTH
From an engineering perspective, the Eargo 5 fits so deep into your ear that it is unable to pick up a Bluetooth signal. The Bose hearing aids do have more features, but they’re features that don’t really make a difference to me as far as being able to hear better. The Eargo 5 and Bose Sound Control don’t offer Bluetooth compatibility, thereby preventing you from streaming music or taking phone calls via the hearing aids.
I bought them quite a while ago but because the Hearglow worked so much better for me I didn’t use them regularly until just a couple of days ago when there was an accident with the others and I had no choice. The volume doesn’t go very high and although it’s better than wearing no aid at all I still have a lot of difficulty hearing with these in. They were almost double the cost but I can’t hear nearly as well with them. The package comes with both right and left receiver-in-canal hearing aids, starting at an affordably priced 999. I already had Hearglow hearing aids but there is quite a lot of feedback with them so when I saw that Bose made hearing aids I thought they would be a much better quality. The Lexie B2 hearing aids are the second Bose-powered hearing aids, effectively replacing the Bose SoundControl Hearing Aids that we discontinued in May 2022.
I was very excited for these hearing aids, I’ve always thought Bose was top of the line for sound quality.
